We recommend children attend appointments as soon as their first tooth erupts, and implementing fun teeth-brushing routines at home to bolster this. Our friendly team of dentists are here to support parents in caring for their child’s teeth, and to help children take responsibility for their oral health as they grow older.

Preventing problems before they arise

As teeth are the only part of the body that can’t repair themselves, spotting problems early is vital.

We recommend bringing your child in for an appointment a minimum of twice a year.

Unfortunately, tooth decay remains the number one reason for the hospitalisation of children aged between 5-9 in the UK, which highlights just how important it is to spot cavities early and to steer your child away from a sugar-heavy diet.

During your child’s appointment with us we will:

  • Check your child’s teeth are developing correctly.
  • Offer friendly advice to your child and to you, the parent.
  • Provide comprehensive dental and hygiene instruction for your child.
  • Offer practical dietary advice.
  • Examine your child’s teeth for signs of decay.
  • Thoroughly clean your child’s teeth.
  • Offer friendly encouragement to your child.

We may also recommend fissure sealants to protect your child’s teeth from decay, and fillings if your child has evidence of a cavity. This will ensure the decay does not get worse and cause tooth loss.
