nervous patients

Research has shown that over a third of people in the UK struggle with dental anxiety.

With this in mind, it’s incredibly important to us that we support such patients, by offering them compassionate words of advice, calming techniques, and the option of intravenous sedation, to make your experience of the dentist a pleasant one. Intravenous Sedation dentistry is one of the most effective methods of helping nervous or anxious patients accept the dental treatment they need and experience the joys of improved comfort and a bright new smile.

Helping you make new and positive connections with the dentist

Often, a person develops dental phobia due to previous bad experiences with the dentist. Here at Smile Club, we see it as our duty and privilege to reverse this and help you see the dentist in a new light.

Our team are patient and good listeners, who will never rush you and answer your questions before treatment. We want you to be fully informed at every stage, and if you wish to stop a treatment at any point, we will absolutely do so.

How good is the treating dentist?

The Principal Dentist at Smile Club, Dr Nasser Syed, is an accredited trainer in sedation for nervous patients and has trained hundreds of dentists, he has been undertaking this since 2009. In addition, he also lectures and trains nationally on how to deal with nervous patients. He is happy to offer conscious sedation to patients who feel they could benefit. Conscious sedation involves the administration of medication that will put you into a relaxed state whilst your treatment is carried out. Most patients tend not to remember the treatment giving an extra benefit.
